The Life Coach Commission™ and the Academy recognize the profound responsibility of coaching
professionals to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and public trust.
To promote excellence in practice, the Coaching Commission™ hereby adopts the following
Code of Ethics and Professional Standards, providing guidance in the pursuit of
truth, justice, diligence, and good-faith professional conduct.
Code of Ethics & Professional Standards
1. Legal Compliance
Members shall comply with the laws and regulatory requirements of the United States, applicable
state or provincial authorities, or the governing laws of their sovereign country. Professionals shall maintain
high standards of conduct in employment, service delivery, and negotiations to protect the public interest.
2. Professional Conduct
Members shall demonstrate zeal, professionalism, and respect in all dealings with clients,
colleagues, media, and the public.
3. Continuing Education
Members shall actively strengthen the knowledge base of the profession through ongoing study,
collaboration, research, and continuing education.
4. Academic Collaboration
Members are encouraged to support partnerships with universities, academic institutions, and
professional groups to enhance coaching standards and practical education.
5. Public Trust & Confidentiality
Members shall promote public confidence through diligence, honesty, cooperation, and strict
confidentiality in all professional matters.
6. Service to the Community
Members are encouraged to provide occasional pro bono assistance to disadvantaged individuals
or communities seeking guidance and support.
7. Respect for Designations
Members shall properly observe and respect all trademarks, service marks, and intellectual
property rights associated with Board of Standards designations.
8. Protection of Intellectual Property
Members shall safeguard the intellectual property of the Board of Standards and report any
misuse of credentials, trademarks, or professional designations.
9. International Cooperation
Members shall promote harmony, ethical cooperation, and constructive communication among
professionals and nations worldwide.
10. Environmental Responsibility
Members shall support sustainable practices by promoting efficiency, reducing waste, and
encouraging responsible stewardship of natural resources.
Binding Agreement
Acceptance and use of any designation awarded or licensed by the Board of Standards
constitutes agreement to abide by this Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.
